This is just a small section of a huge velvet patchwork wallhanging in Le Pain Quotidien in Soho, New York. It sits perfectly in the huge natural wood room with it’s long refectory tables and tall windows, and creates a cozy muffled hubbub from all the chatter in the room. An unusual combination of colours and the richness of the velvet makes it a stunning backdrop for coffee, tea and patisserie. 100 Grand Street, NY10013. Le Pain Quotidien is also in many other cities but this place feels one-of-a-kind!

oh my god, i remember this fantastic place and how we used to go and get a pot of tea and some really scrummy flapjacks for Tea. And ofcourse the velvet quilt! I feel an idea coming on for my next own creation!
