Kids Company Raffle
Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

Last week I had a stand at the Spirit of Summer Fair at Olympia.  On the last day I finally made it to the Kids Company stand to purchase some raffle tickets.  Kids Company is a charity that provides pratical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city kids.  I had this feeling at the time [...]

Question:
Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

What do you design in a recession? With all the doom and gloom of the last few months I wanted to create something upbeat and colourful, not to mention affordable. Let’s remember that this is still a wonderful country that we live in with a rich heritage and culture to boot!  Stay tuned for [...]

white
Thursday, September 6th, 2007

White is a no-brainer, easy to use and undemanding. It looks dramatic with black and festive with metallics, and ofcourse goes with every other colour! Baroque seems to be a theme this fall with mouldings, scrolls and embellishments playing a big part. Nothing new but it always look fresh! Zara (left) [...]

Yellow in Italy
Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Before I archive my holiday pictures I have a few more to share. Yellow is definately a colour that looks good on the Sorrento Coast! Lemons are everywhere and Limoncello is a favourite local drink that is sold in all sorts of shaped bottles all over the place. And lemons are a very [...]

Ice cream colours
Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

The August issue of Country Homes is ‘coastal living’ themed with lots of outdoorsy looks for the summer. The Della and Cabana patterns are featured under ‘3 favourite’ ice-cream coloured buys, along with some pretty glass cakestands and dessert bowls from Plumo, and some teacups from Laura Ashley.  Thanks again CH!

Italian sweets
Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

I bought these sweets back from Italy, I saw them in a small traditional style candy shop in Naples and got them just because I loved the colours so much.

spring fever
Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

Spring fever got a hold of us over the weekend and we finally painted our bedroom white. Actually I take no credit whatsoever, my husband did all the work! And the result is fantastic, fresh and uplifting. Now I get to work on the curtains and chairs. I’ll keep you posted!

spring styles
Friday, March 2nd, 2007

Simple tonal patterns and geometric motifs are right on this spring. The trend for statement and monochromatic wallpapers is ever strong, as in these softly coloured papers from Kuboaa.

The interlocking squares are simple but effective motifs on these chairs, they look modern yet also have a touch of the exotic, be it [...]

Grass green
Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

Greens are back this spring, especially that fresh tingly grassy shade in solids and classic dot and geometric patterns. There’s something so right about walking into a store at the tailend of Winter and seeing green! These shoes (JCrew) and this fun dress (Boden) are on my wishlist.

Blue & Green
Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

I am very inspired by blue and green prints and colour palettes, and after seeing that fabulous ‘Futurism Dawn’ blue/green palette at Heimtex I just have to do something using this dynamic duo for next spring, or perhaps even for Fall. These colours are fresh, classic and have so many shades between them to [...]

Mood yellow
Sunday, January 21st, 2007

In a much earlier post I said how much I loved yellow as a child. I still really love it. I was determined to have yellow in my new Spring’07 collection but did get a few doubtful nods as to it’s popularity in general in the home. Above is a sneak-peek at how [...]

Paperchase Christmas
Tuesday, December 12th, 2006

Paperchase is a fun store even when it’s not Christmas with all their wonderful cards, stationary and paper. Everything is really well laid out and grouped together imaginatively. Their windows are also very eyecatching, infact, their current display shows a more unconventional, modernist way to decorate this Christmas with deer motifs, [...]

Lothar Gotz Art
Sunday, December 10th, 2006

These vibrant artwork installations by artist Lothar Gotz are in the ticket hall and concourse of Piccadily Circus Underground station. His bold use of colour and shape reflect the spirit of the station with it’s constant flow of people on the go, the colours themselves representing all the lines of the Underground. The seemingly [...]
